Hoang P Le sells frozen seafood from Sunshine North, in Melbourne's west, with family dinners in mind. Scampi, oysters, clams, mackerel, cuttlefish and crab, portioned so that a seafood night is a regular weeknight rather than an occasion.
Portions are the point. Clams that open in a pot, mackerel that fits a baking tray, oysters already shucked, squid already cleaned: the preparation is done so the cooking is short. Each box is packed and sealed here and labelled with its weight and packed date.
We buy in lots small enough to check, freeze promptly, and pack with enough dry ice for the trip. Tracking is sent with every order, and the phone number on the parcel reaches a person rather than a queue.
